Get problem resolved
Our house came to us with lack of insulation in the attic. Our closets were hot in summer growing mold on clothes, rusting hinges.
This issue wasnt resolved the first year. We found out in October 23 after having same issues with our closets and noticed that the closes had condensation on the walls. It was supposed to be r38 =11.32 inches it only had 8 inches . Skyline sent an insulation company out that blew in 1,000 sqft of insulation.
Our attic is 1,500 sqft. This means our attic still has 500sqft that needs more insulation added to the attic space.
Skyline is lying to us about working on the situation.
We have to call or contact them otherwise they dont contact us at all. We shouldnt have to pay to add more insulation when it wasnt done right to begin with

Verified ReviewerJust OK Overall
I own the Shore Park tiny home on wheels manufactured by Skyline Homes and it was delivered to my property in Upstate NY in February, 2021. From the very beginning the mini split AC/heat system did not work.
To date Ive spent $1900 on my attempts to repair it and get it to work without any success. Ive had to install a window unit AC in the upstairs loft with a fan to cool the unit and Ive installed a separate gas heater. Being in Upstate NY I dont need the AC much but Ive never been able to get either the AC manufacturer nor the Seller to address this problem. Eventually Ill just bit the bullet and put in a new mini split system AC only.
I do not stay in the Unit during the winter months.
When the unit was delivered and set up there were some small tears in the plastic covering on the underside. During the first winter the squirrels ripped the plastic even more, tore out insulation and made nests. Ive attempted to put new plastic on but it is not an easy job to get under the unit for these repairs.
After just 14 months the Whirlpool refrigerator just stopped keeping foods cool or frozen. It was determined that a service call out to where I live coupled with the needed repairs would be almost as much as a new fridge.
Went to Lowes and purchased new one for about $600.
The trim on the interior walls comes loose and I need to take small paneling nails and nail the finish pieces back into place. Some of the wood molding also comes loose and requires the same repair.
Notwithstanding the weather extremes we experience here the house has done fairly well overall. Its been about 30 months and no leaks, the windows all work and even the sliding door which in the main and only entry, works well except that the lock never operated properly. Again, overall I enjoy the home and other than the above issues, Ive liked living in it.
As a final word, when I first ordered mine the total price with delivery and set up was about $67,000. I thought that was a bargain and still do.
The exact same house now costs more then double what I paid and I do NOT consider that to be a bargain. At that price if I were to do it again I would build a tiny home on a concrete foundation.
- Hard to get warranty repairs
Preferred solution: Someone to address AC issue
User's recommendation: Buy with caution and ask how to get warranty repairs
Warn others
We bought a skyline home with attached garage. From day one our closets were very cold in winter and so hot that they sweated and grew mold on clothes in the summer.
We had to contact attorney state generals office.
The attic didnt have proper amount of insulation, not attic venting right. Ventilation was fixed.
Skyline added insulation to attic but the ones adding the insulation in the attic said they could blow insulation beyond a certain board on each side of the house. Its about four feet on either side of the house.
They were afraid they would block the air flow in the attic.
Well one of the closets is on the other side of that board.
And it remains to be very cold this winter. Insulation really needs to be added and they need longer baffles in the attic so they can have the proper amount of insulation.
Buyer beware

They sit on the rears too much in the office. They try to get rude by talking a little loud to you. Makes me want to slap them. We have waited for our home for almost 3 months we paid cash for it. We
just keep hearing it should be done this week oh were waiting for this oh it will be there next week oh were waiting for this. The Home is done but just sitting there because of a fire metal.
What is the big deal bring the house out and if it takes two or three men to bring the metal out then do it why do you have to do it there no big deal. Do they not know how to drive. I am sick Ive had lung surgery Im a diabetic were living in a trailer a small trailer might I add. They know the situation, weve got to get the house in before the rains come if not we will have nowhere to go because we cannot live in this Trailer in the winter.
Just bring the trailer out and if the fire metal is the only thing that is waiting for finlet two or three men come out I and put it in later.
Common sense I just dont understand. Please help

Dont buy from Skyline. Do your research up front. I wish we had done this
We thought we had our dream home. All was good in beginning.
During production we sent questions to factory for clarification. Took them 6 weeks to reply and then they didnt completely answer our questions. So we had to repeat the process and another 6 week delay. This occurred multiple times.
They wouldnt return our phone calls. When home was delivered we pointed out several things that were stated in contract that did not get done or they did something entirely different. Again more communication from us and extended periods of delay. 6 months more of delays.
We had to fix major electrical, and plumbing issues ourselves. We had to purchase Air Conditioner unit (they would not supply one) and hire someone to hook up the hvac system. The contractor tells us the heating unit that came with home will run 100% of the time and it is very loud in the main part of home. Somewhere down the road we will have to consider a different system.
More expense to us. They said not their responsibility even though it was stated on contract. Doors, windows not level. Windows dont open properly.
Cabinets not level. Cabinet drawers falling apart. Now they are telling us our period of reporting issues for cosmetic concerns has expired, with no regards to all the time wasted in their response to our concerns.
It has been a very rough road, so very stressful. We have spent our own money and so many hours fixing the things they refused to do.
User's recommendation: NEVER, NEVER, NEVER BUY A SKYLINE HOME
The main reason I am writing this is that we got are new skyline mobile home in July 6 of 2022 it is almost November
Siding on one side is not put on right I sent pictures drawers have nails or staples showing in drawers tile wall in shower looks like *** tile in kitchen is not flush with the stove vent small holes in floor was patched and patch is now gone shingles on roof have nails not all the way down so in time will have a leak we were told that the trailer would be cleaned on inside and out and it was not wife and I worked a day and a half on cleaning the outside of the trailer it had black road grime allover it we had to use goof off to get it off back screen door is not right if you shut the door you have a hard time to get it open we have got some of the things fixed Iike the drywall cracks a piece of siding put back on from the delivery and other small things like that it seems like they got there money and the *** with us We should be able to keep 20% of the money we spent on the trailer until all work is done very very very dissatisfied with skyline manufactured home there is know reason they don't have a inspector and team of workers to come in as soon as the trailer is set and fix all of the problems that the inspector found when the workers are done the home owners can check it out
- Take to long to get work done and we have paid in full for trailer

Verified Reviewer |Poor customer service
I bought a double wide from a company in Pine City, MN (I have no complaints on the company I went through). When I informed them that the furnace did not work (informed them within 30 days of receiving the house), I was told that Skyline would not touch my furnace and that I needed to contact the manufacturer myself.
This is a brand new home, never been lived in, and a brand new furnace. As a company that built this, they should help fix a problem that they sold to a customer vs.
telling them to call to get it fixed themselves. I would highly recommend anyone buying a Skyline to test all appliances BEFORE they sign on the dotted lines to make sure everything works correctly in order to avoid getting told to do it yourself when you get it.
Preferred solution: They should help coordinate to get this fixed.
User's recommendation: I would not recommend unless you test everything prior to buying it.
